Terms & Conditions
Effective date: September 4, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern use of the LanternLines website and service. By using our website or signing up for the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
LanternLines provides an AI-powered voice agent that answers phone calls, handles missed and after-hours calls, and books appointments on behalf of local service businesses ("Business Customers"), along with related email and scheduling features.
2. Who can use the service
The service is intended for businesses, not individual consumers. By signing up, you confirm you have the authority to bind the business you represent to these Terms.
3. Business Customer responsibilities
- Provide accurate business information (hours, services, pricing, and anything the AI agent will relay to callers)
- Ensure that using our call-recording and AI-answering features complies with the laws applicable to your business, including any call recording consent requirements in your jurisdiction
- Not use the service for any unlawful purpose
4. Call recording
Calls answered by our AI voice agent may be recorded, and callers are informed of this at the start of the call. Business Customers are responsible for confirming that this disclosure and their own call-handling practices meet the requirements of the states and jurisdictions in which they operate.
5. Fees and billing
LanternLines is billed as a one-time setup fee plus a flat monthly subscription based on call volume. Current tiers are:
- Starter — $297 per month, plus a one-time setup fee of $500 (up to approximately 75 calls per month)
- Growth — $497 per month, plus a one-time setup fee of $1,000 (up to approximately 200 calls per month)
- Scale — $897 per month, plus a one-time setup fee of $1,500 (unlimited call volume)
The monthly fee is flat and does not carry per-call overage charges. The setup fee is charged once and covers building and tuning the AI voice agent for the Business Customer's specific business. Billing dates, payment methods, and any negotiated terms are set out in the Business Customer's service agreement. For setup-fee refund eligibility and monthly billing cancellation, see our Refund Policy.
6. Service availability
We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. The service depends in part on third-party providers (including telephony, AI, and scheduling providers), and outages on their end may affect availability.
7. No guarantee of results
While the service is designed to reduce missed calls and help capture more bookings, we do not guarantee specific business outcomes, call volumes, or revenue results.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LanternLines is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees paid by the Business Customer in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
Either party may terminate service as described in the Business Customer's service agreement or, absent one, with thirty (30) days' written notice.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
